For customers who have not customized the carton, there are some important details that cannot be omitted, such as the weight of the carton, the difference between the inner and outer dimensions of the carton, the choice of carton material, the choice of carton corrugation, how the carton is printed, and so on. Based on my own experience, the editor summarizes a few experiences to share with you for customers who need to customize cartons.

How to make cartons

1. The most basic condition: determine the length, width and height of the carton

Generally, the thickness of a three-layer carton is about 3.5mm, and a five-layer carton is about 7mm, so you must first measure the length, width, and height of your actual items. Then add the thickness of the carton (add 0.5mm as much as possible at the height of the carton). It is the outer box size of the carton. Generally, the carton factory defaults to the outer box size. Outer box size design: The general design is that the width data is the most economical. Therefore, according to your cargo situation, you must tell the carton factory whether the size you mentioned is the outer box size or the inner box size.

2. Choose the material of the carton

According to the weight of your goods and your own cost, choose the material of the carton reasonably. The carton is made of cardboard, so you need to understand the concept of cardboard. Our ordinary cardboard boxes are made of corrugated cardboard. Faceted paper, corrugated paper, core paper, lining paper; the quality of the material is generally related to the weight per square meter. The heavier the weight per square meter, the better the quality. The paper weight is 120 grams, 140 grams, 170 grams, 200 Gram is divided into 250 grams. Generally, the paper quality of the carton is smooth in appearance, and the hardness of the hand is probably distinguished by the paper quality. The paper quality in the whole market will not differ too much.

3. The choice of carton thickness

The carton is classified according to the flute type: the thickness of the carton is generally three layers, five layers, seven layers, and nine layers. Approximate thickness of three layers: about 0.3 mm, thickness of five layers: about 0.7 mm, thickness of seven layers: about 0.9 mm. The third floor is also called single pit, and the fifth floor is also called double pit. The thickness of the reinforced carton is the same, only the hardness is divided.

4. Printing problem

In general, the larger the printed surface area, the higher the cost. Of course, it also depends on the number of colors. Once the carton is printed, it cannot be modified. So be sure to confirm the printed content with the carton manufacturer many times. Some small mistakes can be covered with self-adhesive stickers or warm water stickers with the same color as the carton appearance, but they are not beautiful enough. Give the most accurate printing materials as much as possible, and supervise the carton manufacturer to print strictly according to the requirements.

5. Sample box

If the intention to cooperate with the carton manufacturer is determined, and the quotation paper quality and cooperation method reach a consensus, the carton manufacturer can be asked to provide a sample box. The carton sample is generally not printed, mainly to determine the paper quality, size and process quality.

6. The issue of MOQ

Carton factories all have a minimum order quantity problem, which is 30 square meters. The MOQ is different for different carton factories. It is generally recommended to make more cartons at once, the less you order, the more expensive the price.

7. Special tips

Carton hardness: As long as it is continuous rainy or humid days, even the original hard carton will become soft (the same is true for the new order).

8. Carton color

The color of all carton boards cannot be 100% the same as the last time. If the color requirements are extremely high, it must be colluded with the carton manufacturer.
